On April 23rd 2011 Jude won two BCIMA awards. Concept/collaboration album of the year (Circo de Teatro) & Best CD artwork/graphics (Outskirts of Eden).

Well the new album has arrived! It's always great to see the actual finished product after all the hard work and creativity is over. Looks great. Thanks again to the wonderful artwork of Eric Vondy the CD packaging really reflects the music. We start rehearsals next week for some big shows in April. Always a treat to bring it to the next level - to see how the music will evolve with a band. The hardest part has been choosing which songs to play and which to leave out. I good problem I guess!?

Well I finished up the recording and mixing of the new album in early December - things always take a little longer than you expect. In the meantime I found some stunning artwork that I thought would be great for the graphics and so I approached the artist - Eric Vondy - and he agreed to let me use his art. I think the finished product will be beautiful. A real pairing and collaboration between Eric's images and the music that you will hear. I'm very excited. I put together the graphics myself this time around. As soon as the album is released we will begin gearing up for some live shows in April. Gonna be another eventful year . . .

I have just started recording my next album - with about 6 songs already underway. Most of the album work will be done in Oct/Nov 2010. Pretty excited to be working on these new songs - some will follow on from "Circo" and some will branch off in new directions. I had a chance, a week ago, to perform 5 new songs at Blake Parker's memorial road show and am happy to say they all seemed to go over really well. I've been thinking about posting a new song on this website - but any singular song might give the very wrong impression of what the album will be like, so we may have to wait until the entire thing is completed to reveal . . .!?

Well I'm thinking that my next album will be a double CD release - tentatively called "New Fruit for Eve" - should be eclectic with lots of different styles and vibes going on. I'm hoping to use some of the same musicians that I've been performing with live.

Have begun writing the follow-up to "Circo" - almost got most of the songs, hoping to start recording in early summer or fall.

We shot some video footage of the live show this past weekend - so hoping to have two videos cut from that pretty soon - stay tuned for more info . . .

Wow, after weeks of preparation and rehearsal we finally got to do our live show with a 10 piece band. Everything went off without a hitch. The theater sold out which meant that we raised a lot of money for the CT Scanner campaign, and meant that we had a great room and atmosphere to play to. The band played great - all in full costume and make-up - what a great night - and a double standing ovation!! Looks like we may be doing the show again at a couple of outdoor festivals in the summer . . .

Wow, exciting day yesterday! Looks like we are gonna be making a couple of videos of songs in the early new year: Sideshow Souvenirs, and Madame O. Working with Lisel Forst on one and another film maker - Tabbatha Kat, on the other - we have some very cool ideas and think we can pull it off. Also gonna be filming the live show with Amy Bohigian, so will have some live footage in the early new year too. Holy video drama Batman!

Looks like we are set to perform a live version of the entire album in the mid January 2010 at the Capital Theatre in Nelson - we may end up doing 3 shows, with all the proceeds going to help the Nelson Hospital CT Scanner campaign. This will be a full-on performance with a 10 piece band! We'll use all the people who played on the album (Craig, Bessie, Sydney, Rick, Keith, Tim) plus an extra drummer, bass and guitar player. I'm excited . . .

The album has been getting tons of reviews around the world (pleased to say - so far all positive!), with lots happening in Europe, but just got one in from Japan too! Check 'em out on the Press/Reviews page.

Looks like the downloadable version of the CD is now available through itunes. Sorta weird to have grown up with vinyl and now sell music this way - cool though!

After what seemed like a very long wait - Circo de Teatro finally arrived in stores on July 8th 2009. CDs will soon be available online. Yeah . . .!!

Circo de Teatro - the new album, has been mastered, proofed, and has gone into manufacturing mode. CDs are expected soon.
